Congratulations to Butler's July Employee of the Month - Susie Church, CNA.
Susie has been part of the Medicalodges family for 35 years. This was the first job she had that offered benefits- vacation, sick leave and insurance, and that was very important to her at the time. Susie has always loved taking care of and helping others. Her favorite hobbies are traveling, watching CHIEFS football, crocheting, photography and scrapbooking.
Susie has six siblings and an abundance of nieces and nephews who mean everything to her.
Susie's advice to fellow coworkers - Always ask for help. Always respect others and their feelings. Always put something back for a rainy day and take time for yourself.
From all of us at Medicalodges... Congrats Susie and thank you for all that you do! ...

The ability to share knowledge with others is what makes working at Medicalodges Atchison fun and exciting. Our residents love the opportunity to be part of the community. Summer camp students from Maur Hill - Mount Academy (MH-MA) enjoyed a visit with the residents during their summer camp experience. These students are learning English as a 2nd language. This diverse group of kids were from Mexico, China, Japan and Hong Kong. The residents truly enjoyed spending time with them, and one thing is for sure... ice cream is the universal language! Thank you Maur Hill - Mount Academy for allowing us to be part of this educational journey for these special visitors.

Congratulations to Butler's June Employee of the Month - Taylor Brooks. Taylor has been a part of the Medicalodges family since 2016. Taylor is currently a CNA but plans to become a Registered Nurse.
Taylor is from a small town where she has taken care of livestock, driven a tractor and she can play a mean game of pitch! Her sense of humor is what wins the residents over. She loves listening to her fellow coworker sing and play jazz and finds inspiration in listening to that music.

Did you ever wonder why you just feel better when you consume something chocolate? The smell of chocolate increases theta brain waves which triggers relaxation. Chocolate is also noted to contain high levels of antioxidants. What a relaxing day at Butler today thanks to our friends at Good Shepherd Hospice, who provided a chocolate fountain and treats for residents and staff.
